Adult acne is by far the worst of worst, seriously we should not have to be thinking about wrinkles and pimples at the same time, I see many women with amazing and flawless skin and I am always wondering what is their secret. As someone who really struggles with breakouts, I have learnt a thing or two regarding managing and keeping adult acne and breakouts at bay!
Use Lightweight Moisturiser: Using a lightweight moisturiser is so important for skin that is prone to breakouts, as using a thick, oily based moisturiser is bound to clog your pores leading to further breakouts and pimples. So opt for a lightweight, absorbent moisturiser to help keep your skin stay moisturised and hydrated but also clean and free from clogged pores. Check out our Superfood Moisturiser here it is perfect for acne prone skin!
Exfoliate once a week: Exfoliating once a week, keeps your skin CLEAN, removes dead skin cells and above all keeping those pores clear and free from dirt build up which can lead to breakouts and pimples. So adding an exfoliating scrub to your routine will do your skin wonders. We love using the Floral Facial Exfoliator check it out here.
Tea Tree Oil: Is the natural and most effective spot control treatment, I personally love the Tea Tree Oil from Doterra, It acts as an antiseptic and eliminates bacteria as well as helps with redness and inflammation. I like to use the Tea Tree Oil only when I have a pimple or breakout and use it at night before bed, I find it works it's wonders throughout the night and helps ease inflammation the next day.
Tea Tree Oil Soap Bar for really bad breakouts:
For super bad breakouts and massive volcanoes, I highly recommend grabbing a charcoal and tea tree oil soap bar and using that only to cleanse your skin before bedtime and moisturising and applying tea tree oil. I bought mine from Priceline and found that to be the best first line of defence whenever I get really bad breakouts, however I don't know use this soap bar everyday or to cleanse daily as it can strip natural oils and i find it makes my skin really dry and sticky, so only use if you have a giant breakout or acne situation.
Increase your intake of Vitamin C!
Vitamin C supplements are not only great for your immunity, they are also great for your skin. Vitamin C is a powerful antioxidant which helps protect your skin from cellular damage by free radicals, also helping with premature ageing and also helping with decreasing acne and healing present acne and scars.
Food and H20 is the go!
Ensuring your diet is balanced and full of wholesome foods such as vegetables, fruits and as nourishing as possible, really helps your skin, it is okay to indulge every now and then but ensuring your diet is mostly made up of nourishing foods really helps your skin thrive and stay healthy! Also increasing your water intake on those days where you are breaking out helps your skin heal and repair.
Hope these tips help! You got this girl!
This is what I have found works, before taking any supplements it is best to speak to your doctor or a medical professional regarding your own dietary requirements and needs.
